I have installed Developer 7.01 german. After this it works and I can use english and german language. Then I installed languagepack west. But after this I can only use german and english. So I have test this with english 701 eval. With this version my language pack works.

Has anybody found a solution for this problem?

When updating from 7.0 to 7.01 you have to uninstall language pack west and reinstall!!!
I'm using 7.01 english with language pack west without  problems.

What do you see at
General Information
  Project Properties
    Setup languages
and using available languages. If you find only german and englsih first try to uninstall the language pack and reinstall. I cant believe that there is an own language pack west edition specially for german language...

there is'nt an own language pack. That's the problem.

I reinstall the languagepack. but the available languages stay at german and english. In another forum I found an user with the same problem, but this user can't help me.

I think this is a bug in the installprogramm of developer701.

Mario,

so the installation of the west language pack has no effect: only german + english before and after language pack installation?
Maybe write a log file while installating the language pack to see if it fails somehow?

Also please check the following registry key:
HKLM\SOFTWARE\InstallShield\Developer\7.0\Languages
Which languages are enabled?

Also do you have _isres.dll files for all required languages in your InstallShield program directory under Redist\0409\i386\_isres.dll (where 0409 will be the various langauge codes)?

BTW did you report this problem to InstallShield support?

In registry only 1031 and 1033 are enabled. But if I enabled this, I have the following effect: I see all languages, but the content of stringlist was german.

I has the -isres.dll for 25 languages.

Now I will create a logfile and will post a link for this.

Yes, I report this problem to Installshield. I wait on an answer.

thank you for your interesting.

I tried to log the installation of languagepack. So i change the setup.ini:

[Info]
Name=INTL
Version=1.00.000
DiskSpace=8000;DiskSpace requirement in KB

[Startup]
CmdLine=/l*v logfile.txt
SuppressWrongOS=Y
ScriptDriven=1
ScriptVer=4.0.0.110
Product=InstallShield Developer West Edition
PackageName=InstallShield Developer West Edition.msi
MsiVersion=1.20.1827.0
EnableLangDlg=Y
DoMaintenance=Y

But he don't write any logfile. Who can I log the installation of languagepack?

thank you, Mario Noack

I found the way to log the setup.exe:
setup.exe /V"/l*v c:\log.txt"

Here is now the logfile:

It seems to fail in the OnMoved event handler:

MSI (s) (D8:B4): Creating MSIHANDLE (313) of type 790536 for thread 1204
MSI (s) (D8:B4): Executing op: ActionStart(Name=OnMoved,,)
Aktion 15:37:43: OnMoved.
MSI (s) (D8:B4): Executing op: CustomActionSchedule(Action=OnMoved,ActionType=1025,Source=BinaryData,Target=Moved,)
MSI (s) (D8:B4): Creating MSIHANDLE (314) of type 790536 for thread 1204
Aktion beendet um 15:37:44: InstallFinalize. Rückgabewert 2.

The custom action is returning ERROR_INSTALL_USEREXIT

Now the question is: why? And this can only be answered by InstallShield because they know what they are ding in OnMoved.

I write much mails to installshield to report my problem. But they say only, that they are showing at problem. At time I has not get any helpfully answer from installshield. So I send Developer german back to Installshield and ordering online Developer english. And now it works fine.

Installshield has suggest, that this year will be released Developer 702.  This tool should work correctly but I can't wait.

Thank you for your help!

Mario and I have contacted InstallShield offline and the problem has been solved.
For some period of time InstalShield was shipping an incompatible language pack. If anyone has a similar problem, please contact InstallShield support to request a new language pack.
