I need to create an installshield project that performs only the installation and does not run in maintenance mode at all i.e. I do not want the maintenance dialog box to show up.

I'm new to installshiled, but have you tried removing the OnMaintUIAfter() or OnMaintUIBefore() function?  That might do it... goodluck

No, these are default events and therefore should be automatically called regardless of whether or not they are explicitly defined in your script.

One way to do what you'd ask is to go back to a program block model like in IS 5.  To do so, you could basically do the reverse of what's stated in the following post:
