Hi there,

How do I get the runtime files for .NET to be included with my installation?

Is there a Merge Module?

I have found a download of the .NET framework from Microsoft, but it would be very messy in my install to get the user to run this file.
Can I just automatically include them in my installation?

At present I am not actually installing any .NET applications, but will need the runtime files for future development.

I am using a BasicMSI project.

Any help?
Thanks,

In the Release wizard of ISD there's a check box that will install the .net runtime with your setup.

Where is this option?

I can't see it anywhere in the Release Wizard.
Should I be building a particular media type (web, CD, floppy etc)?

I have options to install the correct versions of the MSI engine, but not for .NET runtime files.

I am using a BasicMSI project in IS Developer 7.01

Help!

Thanks,

.NET support was added in 7.02. I suggest you get the (free) update to 7.03 - it also fixes many bugs.

I have looked for this on the InstallShield website, but I can't find it.

Everywhere, it tells me to use the "Check for Updates" menu choice from within Developer.

However, I do not have an internet connection on my development machine, so I can't do this.

Is there any way to download the 7.03 update and install it manually?

Thanks,
