Hi!
I have the following problem with my IS Dev 8 built setup program:
At the first time i start the resulting setup.exe, everything works fine.
At the second time i see the Maintenance-Dialog, ok, thats right.
But when i choose "Repair" at this point, then there is no Maintenance-Dialog appearing when i start the setup.exe for the third time!
It starts an "normal/first" installation with license-agreement!
How can i get rid of this behaviour?
Falk.

When you started the setup.exe for the third time, was it from the RUN button of the IS Dev 8. I ask this because I know that it never run the setup in maintenance mode.
If it can't help you, show us the logfile

No idea, sorry
Are you sure that your maintenance mode don't unregister somthing?

i started a basic msi-project,
added 1 feature with 2 components (one file per component, only copy),
inserted a custom action which edits three files on the target machine by a vbscript (config of report server),
...and then build it.

As far as I observed from the log files, after you have run the second installation, your product is getting unregistered. Then, when you are starting the third installation, a normal installation is running. And another thing is that when the initialization is starting, at third time, an empty string is passed for the initialization.
Try to check why you product is unregistered after you run the second installation; I think something is related to maintenance mode – some conditions or something related.
