hello
some application's shortcut icon has disabled "change icon" and "change target" from the property. i am trying to find this control from the IS7 (basic msi project) but i can't locate it.
can anyone tell me where this control is?
thank you

i also have another question.
when i click on "change icon .. " button from the shortcut property (after installation), it shows
%SystemRoot%\Installer\{C094F8F5-57CA-4489-86CE-278F10DBE98E}\NewShortcut1_1.exe
in my setup project, it contains "mysetup.ico" so it can deploy with other dll files. and after installation, i want the desktop shortcut to use this ico file.
(so when i click on "change icon ... " button, it shows c:\program files\mysetup\mysetup.ico")
i think i have tried everything i can think of....
is it even possible to set??
thank you

TheChange button is disabled for advertised shortcuts. This is a setting in the shortcut proeprty page in InstallShield.

i see but somehow, when i set advertised option to 'yes', desktop short cut does not get created at all. (but the related component gets installed to local)
am i missing something else ?

In this case something must be wrong in your project. Did you run a validation?
