When I run my patch, it will update version 6 to 9, version 7 to 9, but not version 8 to 9, even though they are all done exactly in the same way. We have been using the patches in installshield developer since build 6, and i'm not sure why this is happening now. We have not changed anything in the way we create the patch.

Did you perform an upgrade validation?
If you generate a log file you may get more insight about what happens
