hi,
When i create a patch for a standard MSI project and try to apply it,i receive an error saying u cant apply the MSI patch directly and need the setup.exe.
The solutions suggested previously for this problem in the forum didnt help me out .
Please can u guide me on this...

So did you create an update.exe and run that? And you still get this error?

ya i did! still m facing the same problem....is there any way to run the patch with the setup.exe of that standard msi project.i dnt face this problem with basic MSI projects.....
plz can u guide me furthur???

I think there is/was a bug similar to this. Did you check http://www.installsi...en/bugs_isd.htm ?
This is one of the reasons why I recommend to avoid InstallScript MSI projects.
