I am able to install an msi while logged locally on a machine from the command line:
msiexec /i test.msi /qn
however am unsuccessful when I try to do this on a remote machine.
There is a log produced with the following message: Error 1606.Could not access network location %USERPROFILE%\Personnel\Mes images\.
I am in an NT environment.
How can I deploy these .msi files?

We have the same error here, but the directory name is in Russian:
-- Error 1606.Could not access network location %USERPROFILE%\Мои документы\Мои рисунки\. Retry Cancel
-- Error 1606.Could not access network location %USERPROFILE%\Мои документы\Мои рисунки\. Retry Cancel

Note that the user context switches during the installation from the logged ion user to the System account. So System must have access to the location of the msi file. It should work if you copy the msi file to a global location instead of the user profile.

Thank you very much for this advice! This also explains why installing from network, virtual or SUBSTed locations sometimes fail.
