If you have an app. installed with components A, B, C, D installed, then you have another install, with a different guid, how can this second install remove say components C and D that were installed from the other install ?

Seems to me that the 2nd install would have to manually check for C & D's existence and then take the appopriate measures, such as in your case, removing them.

Not what you asked but... Do you have to have a different guid? IS will remove the unselected components on an overinstall.
