I am in the process of getting our product ready for Vista certification and am getting ICE 30 error for 6 different files. My product only installs on 2K, XP, and Vista. I understand why I am getting the error, what I don't understand is why is it an issue if two files have the same short file name given the operating systems I am installing to. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

The short file name is relevant if:
- your source files aren't packed in CABs but stored on the CD as loose files, and the CD-ROM doesn't support long file names
- your customer performs an administrative install to a network drive that doesn't support short file names (netware?)
- your customers wants to install with short file names
The solution should be relatively easy: specify different short file names in the File table.
