ok i got the checkboxes up but for some reason they wont show up till i click on them. Ive tried all the Show,Hide Enable conditions and changed it from sunken to not sunken. Nothing will make it show up?
It is still showing sorta 3-d and that looks sunken  to me but it says sunken=false---maybe i need to change its value somwhere else also?

I think an easy fix would be to just have the checkbox checked by default.

How do i do this.

What exactly is your problem:
- checkbox is invisible when the dialog is displayed (which dialog?)
- checkbox is displayed with 3d style?
- checkbox should be checked initially?

Some stuff to try...

Checked by default:
set your property to 1 in the property table

can't see the box:
enabled-true
visible-true
try changing your tab index - don't duplicate with any other control in that dialog box

Another possibility for invisible controls is that they are appearing 'under' a bitmap.  Try moving the control to an area of the dialog that is 'clean' or change the size of the bitmap so that it does not cover the location of your control(s).
