I have prepared a patch using the Patch Generation Wizard which seems to complete normally. However when I attempt to run the generated Update.exe, the installation fails saying I cannot run the .MSI directly and must use Setup.exe instead.

The previous version of the product is already installed. I have used a different package code for the latest version, so cannot work out the problem. Can anyone advise?

I was having the same problem a while ago. Not sure how it was fixed. I went through the direct editor tables and made sure that all the GUIDs for the components and files are set correctly. (matched what the IDE was showing and removed and readded components)
