I noticed that when I patch a file that has COM information, the info is not extracted when I add the new version of the file.
If you add a file while making a new component, the extraction happens automatically, according to best practices. But not when you add a file into an existing component.
Does anyone know how to make it do this?

Use "extract at build" instead.
