Sie haben nie wirklich funktioniert, und Windows Installer Experten haben immer davor gewarnt, sogar das Windows Installer Team bei Microsoft selbst (siehe Rule 20: Avoid Nested Installs). Nun wird von Sub-MSI Installationen (Nested Install Custom Actions) auch offiziell abgeraten.

Die empfohlene Methode ist ein externes Programm ("Chainer EXE") das die msi-Dateien nacheinander aufruft.
