i'm working on a version upgrade where one of the files needs to be rolled back to a previous version.
how would i go about doing this? i don't see an "always overwrite" option in MSI.
is there one?
if not... how else might this "upgrade" take place?

The best way would be to change the version number of this file to make it higher than the currently installed version.
Otherwise you could delete the existing file using the RemoveFile tables. Another option would be "version lying", i.e. enter a higher version number in the File table than the file actually has.
