At times, we receive a 1720 (and at times, I believe, a 1600 series error) during our installs. I do have an InstallScript custom action included in our setup. What we have to do to get around this problem is browse to the installation CD and install the InstallScripting engine (ISScript8.msi) independent of our installation process. Following this, our installation process is started and proceeds to completion without problem.
Should this not install automatically if needed. If so, what is preventing this from occurring?

setup.exe should install the engine automatically, but apparently this doesn't work properly in some cases.

I had it set in my installs to copy from source media. I wonder if that is the problem. Probably. I changed it to 'Include in Setup.exe' so I guess we'll see what happens.
