Altering installer after build

I am new to the InstallShield and this would help me decide if I'm going to purchase it or not.
I would like to live part of installer uncompressed so that I can find some pattern in it after buuild and put product key over the pattern. This is possible with Vise installer by using resource file (it's not compressed) so I wonder if it's possible with InstallShield.
Is there any way to avoid CRC check with this approach?

You can override the CRC error event handler, so that it will ignore CRC errors on this particular file.
