Hi All,
Issue:
One of our 'Users' is running an installation on an NT server (Windows 2000 PRO, 29GB SPACE), however when the installation gets to 17% of the file transfer, an error message is displayed referencing a certain file and the error code '-106' is returned as part of the 'ComponentError' function:
-106 Unable to decompress a file. An internal error occured.
This problem does not occur when the installation is run by other 'Users' with the same specifications, (i.e: Win 2000 PRO).
Question(s):
Is this a problem with the actual file?
Is there a more descriptive explanation of the error codes returned from the function 'ComponentError'?
If so, where can I find them?
Has anyone that has experienced this problem before any ideas?
How are other 'Users' by passing this error message with the same installation CD?
All replies/ideas are greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance,

Hi All,
It seems that the CD-ROM drive on the server was having trouble reading CD's, thus resulting in the ComponentError:
'-106' Unable to decompress a file. An internal error has occured.
The following workarounds did the trick:
1. Get the user to copy the contents of the installation CD to the hard drive and run the installation from here.
2. Get the User to map the server as a network drive, then run the installation from another machine on the network, installing into the mapped location.
Thanks All,
