Hi all,
I want to remove a file that is not included in installer (application generate it), at installation, uninstallation and during maintenance install.
I think this can be achieved using custom action, but it is better if this will be achieved on general standard msi sequence.
Adding an entry to RmoveFile table with InstallMode=3 works fine on installation and uninstallation but on maintenance install the file reamains.
Any ideas ?

I belioeve the RemoveFile table only removes a file if there is a state change in the associated component (install or uninstall, but nor repair). So you will need a custom action (why doesn#t your application clean up this temp file in the first place?).

Because the file is kind of a cache file.
