Hi All,
Anyone knows why the Error 2709 pops up during patching?
I understand that 2709 means that the particular Component is not found in the Component table. But I checked my UpgradedImage it contains this particular Component. So what could be wrong?
Thanks,
angp

Matching ComponentId GUIDs?
Did you generate a log?
If your authoring tool has a function like "update validation", did you run it?

Hi Stefan,
Thanks for the respond. I'm trying to apply this patch to a released version.
I'm using msimsp.exe to generate my patch. How to run the update validation?
Thanks,
angp

Just to add on to what I meant by applying to a released version is a version without any patch applied before. That is the first version of the product.

Just to close this thread. I've got another problem patching, due to one of my to be patched product's ProductCodes not included in the ListoftargetProductCodes, therefore I was not able to patch RTM and RTM + SP1. Product not matching.
After adding the ProductCode both issues are resolved.
Error 2709 and patch is not for this product issues are both resolved.
Thanks,
angp

Oh I found that the real reason for this issue is the Component GUID and KeyPath was changed in my subsequence patch. I do not have to add that extra product code which I meantioned earlier that I thou was missing. My bad.
