I need to update a merge module for a dll created in-house. There is no project file (ism) available for this merge module. IS Developer Version 7.02 was originally used to create this merge module. We are currently using IS DevStudio 9 with SP1. Is there any way for me to directly update the msm file for the new version of the dll, or should I create a new merge module so I have an ism to work with in the future? TIA...

You can either import the msm file which will create a new .ism file for it, or if you only need to make a minor modification once, you can open the .msm in direct edit mode.

I've been looking in the documentation, but I can't seem to find how to import a merge module to create a new ism. How do I go about doing this? Thanks for the assistance!

File -> Open
Type: Windows Installer Modules (*.msm)
Open as: Wizard (don't use the default "Auto")
When the wizard starts select "convert to InstallShield project"
