i am new to window installer..in fact i cant find it in my winXP
as there r no download for win xp....

msi v2.0.2600.0 was shipped with winxp as part of the os. check the %windowsdir%\system32 directory for the msi.dll.
a newer version is available ( v2.0.2600.2 ) and is recommended, especially if you are supporting the me os or any of the ms office products on win2k/xp...
the only way i can think you might not have it is if you were running winxp embedded and it was removed to 'lighten' the footprint...
