Skins can only be used in (pure) InstallScript and in "INstallScript MSI" projects but not in Basic MSI projects.

gutten tag stefan,
is the skin cutomization available for basic msi in installshield 11.x? i don't see it in the specifications. I really don't want to upgrade if it's still not there...any news this WILL be supported anytime soon? thanks for any info...

Basic MSI uses pure windows installer dialogs which means they are defined in MSI tables. As such I think it is unlikely that skinned dialogs will be supported anytime soon. What exactly do you need the skin for? If you need it for a particular dialog you can perhaps spawn a win32 dialog from one of your MSI dialogs.

If you want use skinable MSI installation you can use Skin Maker application(http://www.skincrafter.com/), but this application pack your MSI into single exe file.
