Hi all,
Our anti-virus has detected a new virus in PackageForTheWeb4. The setup for this soft came from InstallShield.
Be careful: all packages built with this soft are also infected.

If anyone knows a workaround for this ...

Here is the exact sentence from our anti-virus:
"The Win95/Shutdown. Trojan virus was detected in ...\STUB321.EXE"
Regards,
JSP

InstallShield has answer:
This is a false positive identification of a virus. The Stub32i.exe does NOT
have a virus in it. This has been confirmed by Computer Associates.
All seems OK now. The updated virus signature do not detect anymore this virus.
Regards,
JSP

Which anti virus program are you using?
Is there a knowledge base article or something from CA on this?

#Moderation Mode

Moving to "Other" forum because PFTW4 is not a Windows Installer tool.

Hi Stefan,
Our anti-virus is eTrust Inoculate IT from Computer Associates v 6.0.96. InstallShield confirmed me this morning that this kind of alert won't appear anymore with updated virus signatures.

I was wondering if you had any more problems with Inoculate after this incident.  We had a notice of the same virus (Win95/shutdown.trojan), while using IncoculateIT for Win95.  CAI says there's no such virus, but now I can't run a full scan on this PC.  CAI has given several fixes, none of which work.  I've uninstalled, reinstalled, and updated virus signatures several times with no luck.

Thanks

I have totally uninstalled Inoculate from the build machines, because of many strange behaviors with InstallShield products.
