Hello all,

when I'm doing a Major Upgrade a single file does not properly install. Setup deletes the older file but does not copy a new one. I could not find any info regarding this failure in the log file.

The problem may be that the file to be replaced has always a newer time stamp than the updated file, because it is a temporary work file which is saved every five minutes.

Doing an update on a temp file which has a older time stamp, the file is replaced properly.

This is not something I've tried so it is just a thought, but you could write a small custom action to delete the file before the installer attempts to copy the new one on.
