Hi,
i have made a MSI Project. When i publish this Software with Active Directory and Group Policy everyone can install this software on his computer. But when i "assign" the sotware, normally the user should get an Icon on the startmenu and the software should be installed, only when he want to start the software the first time. But this second method "asigning" does NOT work. Why???
Thanks in advance.

Here is also similiar problem,
publishnig a .msi with Group policy works fine, but assigning to computer or user doesn't work.
It says (in event log) that application is installed successfully, but actually it doesn't work.
It is about Java runtime 1.4.1.
Unfortunately we have too many dumb users so publishing and going to add/remove applet in Control Panel is "to complicated".
If anybody has some idea it would be very appreciated,
thanks

do you know if it is being installed as a 'per-machine' ( ALLUSERS=1 ) or 'per-user' ?
