MSXML3 module errors

MSXML3 merge module gives an error when installing on clean WIN95 or clean NT machines (not tried others yet). HRESULT = gargabe error. It looks as though msxml is dependent on something else, but this isn't indicated in the merge module. Anyone have any info about this?

Answering myself again.... After a good deal of searching I discovered that XML3 requires IE4.01 sp1 minimum, and installing that fixes the problem. So yet another example of MS finding ways of enforcing installation of IE.
