I'm running ISWI 2.x. Is there a way that I can determine the number of processors that the machine has?

In a few of my installations I get this value from the environment variable NUMBER_OF_PROCESSORS. It's a quick method, making a GetEnvVar call.
The other option is to look at HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\HARDWARE\DESCRIPTION\System\CentralProcessor. There will be one subkey here for each process in the machine.
