Hi Forum,
we have found that when a single shortcut inside the startmenu from our installation is moved to another direction, a REINSTALL takes places. To avoid this, we placed each single shortcut into it's own feature. It works fine.
But when the whole folder with the shortcuts within is moved to another place, the REINSTALL still is started. Is there a way to avoid this?
Example of the structure of the startmenu:
start / programs / myFolder / myShortCut
When in this example only 'myShortCut' is moved, no REINSTALL takes places, but if the whole folder is moved, it does.
What can we do?
Thanks for reading and I wish you a nice weekend,
Torben

Hi again!
This behaviour can be viewed only in one special msi, and only on NT-systems. Win98 has no problem with it.
Even reproducing the problem with a new installation fails, so it's obvious that there is a problem right in the wsi.
Can anyone give me an advice where to look?
Thanks in advance,
Torben
