When running setup.exe on an IS 6.3 and XP Pro SP2 generated install,
I am getting "ClassFactory cannot supply requested class."

The first indication of a problem was when IS could not find ikernel.exe on a build.
Copied/renamed kerenel.exe_ from a previous build and am now getting the above error>

Any idea as to what has gone wrong??????

I'm not sure exactly what's gone wrong, but in that case, I would try reinstalling IS.

Thanks for the reply.
I am unable to uninstall, getting the same error on remove.
I did try doing a repair, it worked ok, but did not fix the problem.
Installing Norton AV and IS 2007 seems to have caused the problem.
All was working well before then.
Removed AV and IS, but problem remained.
Must have a newer dll installed which is not compatible?????
Since I'm running InstallShield 6.3, what are the odds of a more
curent version fixing the problem???
Thanks again for the help.

Well a newer version of IS would have a different location for the kernel, but not sure your point in saying that as you already have IS 2007 installed now.

However, if you want IS 6.3 working again and you have XP's System Restore enabled, then I would try going back to a point before Norton AV and IS 2007.

Thanks for the pointer.
I will manually remove InstallShield, tray to reinstall.
If that fails, then I will upgrade.
Thanks for the help.
