How to include shortcut to network .exe?

Creates MSI file from VB Project, installs on local machine. Can I also drop a shortcut on the users desk pointing to a network app as well? Doesn't seem to wanna include a .lnk file (turns it into the .exe it is pointing to)

Yes. In the shortcuts treeview there is an option to add a desktop Icon. Set the target to wherever the .exe is:

Example:

Target: [SystemFolder]\DCOMCNFG.EXE
