We were shipping our product packaged using Installshield 6.3 till now. Now we are trying to switch to IS 2008. Everything seems to work fine except the following.
- Install the application using the package created by IS 6.3
- Try to upgrade it using the package created by IS 2008
- The call to FeatureReinstall() does not copy anything.
After debugging we found that IS 2008 is not able to read setup.ilg created by the earlier install ( by IS 6.3 package) and hence does not get any list of files to be copied.
Anyone having any idea about this?

Windows Installer (MSI) is a totally different techology than InstallScript, and there is no automatic connection between the two. You would have to use a custom action to run the uninstall command for the old version.
