Hi,
We have a problem on a Windows 2000 computer, when we launch installation, we always have an error IKernel 0x100000.
We have administrative permission on the computer and the CD-Rom works fine on an other computer.
We tried to :
- see if we have sufficient COM permissions on the machine
- Check and make sure Ikernel.exe is not in memory
- Clean out the Temp directory
- Delete the Program Files\Common Files\InstallShield\Engine folder and then rerun the setup.
Nothing worked !! Help !!

And which version of IS are you using? Also, does this happen on _every_ W2K or just this particular one?

I'm using Installshield professionnal 6.2.
This problem happens only on this machine.

Sounds like a problem with the machine. Having come up with that blinding flash of the obvious, I'll move on to maybe some more helpful comments.
Have you check the target machine for viruses or contamination?
Try upgrading to Pro 6.31 (Which I believe is free for 6.2 users).
Check with MS (shiver) for the error message
Wipe the machine and start again.( of course, use this as last resort)
Good luck and let us know

I agree Xitch13. To put it technically, that machine is just hosed. =)
