InstallShield 11.5 Released

Macrovision has released the new version 11.5 of their InstallShield setup authoring tools. With the new release the product has been split into two product lines: InstallShield Windows creates setups for Windows Installer (MSI), InstallScript and mobile devices (Windows CE, Palm OS). InstallShield Multiplatform creates cross platform installations for Linux, Unix, Mac OS, Windows, etc.

.NET 2.0 Framework Support (MSI)
Microsoft SQL Server 2005 Support
ClickOnce Support
ClickOnce to MSI Converter
Microsoft Build Engine (MSBuild) Support
MSI Log Analyzer which generates nicely formatted reports from log files
DIFx 2.0 Support (Basic MSI and InstallScript MSI)
more than 100 Bug Fixes

Macrovision also released InstallShield Collaboration, a plug-in for Visual Studio and Eclipse that enables application developers to specify the installation requirements for the files they develop. The setup developer then can add this definition to the installation project instead of having to guess things like registration information or reverse engineer the application files.
