I would like to delete an old version of the program as part of the new install. Currently, I can prevent the install if another version is found, but I'm not sure how to force a Yes/No do you want to uninstall the old version. Is this possible with InstallShield Express 4?

You can make an entry under "previous versions" which will automatically uninstall the old version.

Sorry, it's called "Upgrade Paths" under (1) Organize Your Setup.
In addition you have to change the ProductCode in General Information

I have InstallShield Express 5 sp2 on XP.

I've been experimenting with upgrade paths and I still get two entries in add/remove programs list (old & new versions).

This typically means that the uninstall of the old version didn't succeed. An MSI Log of the update should give you details.
