I need help, hints to set up a condition that can indicate if an installed service is running or not before I proceed with the uninstall action. I want to give the user a message to take down the system manually/controlled before uninstallation of the software.
I use ISDEV7.04 and the a Basic MSI project.

Take a look at the "Starting, Stopping and Deleting NT Services" sample at http://www.installsi.../en/isp_svc.htm, particularly the _IsNTServiceStopped function.
