Hi,

I'm new on this forum, excuse my English it’s not my natural language

I have a problem with a basic MSI Project and merge module (Redistributables).

I want to uninstall a merge module (install with the V 4 of my MSI project) when I install the V 5 of my programs.

The problem is for uninstall directly the merge module
The V5 install detect the V4 and it’s impossible to go on the "Custom setup screen" for uncheck the feature of my merge module.

The perfect solution for me is to uninstall the Redistributables without user manipulation
when install my V5 program

I using the installShield 2008

There's no difference between components in your main setup project and components added by a merge module. Now it depends on the type of upgrade you are doing Minor or Major. I would recommend a Major Upgrade, i.e. change the ProductCode. Depending on yopur settings in the Upgrade view, this will fully uninstall the old version before installing the new version.
