Hello,
Is there any way to get a setup to run as it were being launched by an administrator?
Ideally, I'd like the setup to accept an encrypted password.
I've looked at runas but that has a ui that's not acceptable for what I'm trying to do. I've tried a few other exe's from the web but they launch the setup and hang leaving IKernel.exe in memory.
Does anyone have any thoughts on this?
Thanks,
Tom

That's one of the advertised "benefits" of a Microsoft Installer-based setup like IS Developer 7.
However, I just read that the new IS Professional 7 (InstallScript-based setups) engine no longer requires admin. priveleges to install itself, so that also has a similar potentional.

Yeah, I figured that's what you were running. That's also why I mentioned those alternatives because, to the best of my knowledge, IS 6.x can't do that.
