Hi,

In my recently project I used IS to generate a *.msi file. The *.msi should have the same ProductCode with the Project setting(It always did) .
But this time it didn't. >> I used the installshield to open the *.msi files; I found that they had different product code (different to the id set in the project).

I have checked the

Installation Information >> General Information >> Product Properties >> Product Code
Behavior and Logic >> Property Manager >> ProductCode
Additional Tools >> Direct Editor >> Property >> ProdutCode

---they are the same

if I set the product code in
Media >> Releases >> Product Configuration >> Product Code

it did solved the problem but I thought it(*.msi) should default to use the same product code with project settings! even if I did not set Product Code in
Product Configuration.

If someone knows what's wrong with the project, please let me know.

Thanks, huh.gif

Product code and package code are two entirely different properties.

Did you add a merge module recently. If a merge module includes a ProductCode property (which it shouldn't but it sometimes happens) this might cause such results.

Yes, it is the merge module caused the problem! I have solved the problem. Thank you!
