Hi,
at our company we have Install Shield 2008 Express Edition (Version 14). We have a application which uses old HLP files as Help System. Windows Vista and 7 do not natively support this format anymore.
But there are available updates on the Microsoft site that install a HLP Viewer on Vista/7: http://www.microsoft...&displayLang=en as MSU files.
There are two editions: 32bit and 64bit.
How can i now:
In my setup.exe detect the windows version (Vista/7/Server 2008) and the bit version (32/64bit) and based on the detection install the correct msu file?
I found on the internet this: http://community.ins...3&highlight=MSU but i cant find the prerequisite editor in IS. Is it possible to resolve my problem in my edition of InstallShield?

According to Microsoft's terms, you're not allowed to redistribute those Windows Updates with the legacy Help support as a part of your installation. Instead the user has to manually download & install them.
However, you could add checks to confirm their presence and if they're missing, instruct the user accordingly.
