i am using Installshield for Windows Installer 2.0

and i  have to create a short cut (icon) of my application on the task bar (i.e. at the bottom of windows desktop).

Please tell me if it is supported in this version.

i read that it is not supported in Shoortcut Explorer then, is there any oterh way of creating a shortcut on taskbar?

Please help

You can author a record in the Shortcut table after ISWI has built the msi file.  Using ORCA or otherwise.

Alternately you can write a CA to add the shortcut table record at run time.

i downloaded and installed ORCA.

Then edited the msi file to create a row in the shortcut table, with the 'Directory' column as 'TaskbarFolder'.
i.e. the Directory column for this shortcut had 'TaskbarFolder'.

Now when i run the .msi file  it gives an error "2756: TaskbarFolder'. Probably it does not identify this folder.

If you could guide me through this, it would be of great help.

waiting for reply
thanks

You will have to find the task bar for yourself.  It is not a standard msi directory or indeed shell folder.  I am not aware of a CSIDL for it.
