Component GUID and MergeModules

My setup installs some Microsoft Merge Moduls for the VB-Runtime environment and an update for compiled help files (hhupd.exe) together with my components.
A customer experiences a strange behaviour:
When he starts IE5 or its Visual Basic environment the installer pops up and wants the path to the source file for my installation.
Could this be caused by faulty component GUIDS, maybe one of my componets has the same GUID as an IE5 components, or an faulty GUID in an Micorsoft Merge Modul ?
Any other ideas whats going wrong ?

Just for Your information:
I gave my MSI files and the installation log-files to the Microsoft support and they didnt find an solution.
