Is there any way to create a shortcut directly to an application that resides in the Control Panel area? I can easily create a shortcut to the CPL file itself but this is not our desired solution to the problem.

Thanks!

No, you cannot make a shortcut to the actual entry in Add/Remove Programs applet. You can only mimick its behavior by duplicating the uninstall string.

See the FAQ for information on where this data resides.

You can easily run any control panel applet, see Wilson WindowWare Tech Support for more information, alternatively see the german WinFAQ page or search the google pages for "run control panel applet" or similar strings.

If you want to link to such a control panel application, the link would be something like "CONTROL.EXE ACCESS.CPL,@0,2".

Oh, I see what you're saying Perotin. I misunderstood what jhstroup was asking.
