Hopefully this is quite an easy one for you guys - I'm a bit of a InstallShield newb :/
...sorry if this is the incorrect forum to have posted this btw.

I have InstallShield Developer 7, and I want to make an install package which looks at an already existing registry entry (which contains a path), and then install files to that path.
This is basically adding new files to a different program which has already been previously, seperately installed.

Now, I thought this would be an easy option to find, but I'm having trouble working it out! I can see how to make new registry entries, but not read one and then use the value as an install directory...

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thx,
Renegade

The best way would be to populate the AppSearch and RegLocator tablesin Power Editor (see MSI Help for details, including a sample).
BTW Newer versions of InstallShield have a System Search view for this purpose.
