Install file conditions

Best Answer maxk , 24 June 2014 - 14:13

Thanks Julienpec.

Actually, in the component property there is an option to choose "Never Overwrite".

If you select yes, the file is never overwritten if it exists on the target machine.

Sorry, I couldn't think yesterday.  :)

Thanks.

Hello,

I have one file to install ONLY if this file doesn't exist on the local pc (regardless of file date, version, or size).

I've create a component and trying to add conditions. Is this simple and best solution?

What would be the conditional statement for this case?

Thanks in advance,

M

In my opinion, you don't need any condition because, if the file already exists on the engine, your install will overwrite the file by the one of your install, and if the file isnt present on the machin, your package will just install it.

Note that this only checks for the key file of the component.
