Help!
I have an installshield package .msi, that when I remove the pplication, just after I remove services in the execute sequence, I perform a custom action that launched an EXE.
When I remove the application using the original .MSI file, the exe runs and terminates fine. When I run it using Control-Panel Remove, the exe hangs, and never terminates. What's the difference?

unless otherwise specified by the ARPNOREMOVE property the msi service will write a "UnInstallString" value to the registry ( in the HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\{msiproduct} registry key.
when you select to remove the app from the control panel this string will be used rather then the performing a re-configuration with the msi service ( as happens when you double-click an installed msi )...
it will usually depend on what was written to this value...
