I build several different setups from the same Installation script / database. Now the sales team has asked me to deliver shortcuts with different names depending on what edition I am installing. So there is "Product Standard", "Product Professional" etc... I was always under the impression that shortcuts should be added to the same component as the file they are pointing to, so how would I go about delivering different shortcut text for different setups?

You will need to create seperate components for each shortcut, and then condition these shortcuts appropriatly.
