Hi,

I have two setups as
1. Product 1 of Version 3.0 and
2. Product 2 of Version 3.1

Product 1 and Product 2 are major and monor releases respectively.

When I try to install Product 2 in a machine after uninstallating the previous version Product 1, the installer throws the following error.


This patch package could not be opened. Verify that the patch package exists and that you can access it, or contact the application vendor to verify that this is a valid Windows Installer patch package.

What will be the reason ? Could you please help me on this ?

Sorry to post this topic more than once in same category. While I try to post this it throws the "Mail Error" to me. So I tried more than once.

Did you patch any of these products?

Hi Stefan.

I didn't patch any of these products. These are all new releases. I just uninstalled the Product 1 and installed Product 2.

Look at the log to find out which patch file it's trying to use and finds invalid.
