The dialog preview in DevStudio 9 shows a percentage on the status bar. The dialog editor does not have the percentage. Can I add this back in?

This may depend on the operating system (I believe in XP the percentage display is deprecated). You can also try to play with the style bits of the progress bar control.

Sorry, I don't know from the top of my head which style bit that would be (if any). You will have to look up MSDN.
