Some online documentation indicates you can deploy MSI 3.0 in a InstallShield X project, but I cannot find a way to do this throught the IDE.

Questions are:
1) Can version X be configured to deploy MSI 3.0 through the IDE
2) If not, can the version just be update manually? If so what needs to be done?
3) Any other work arounds to this problem?

An update may be required. I don't know if this was ever posted to the public or only available from InstallShield support for customers with a contract. You could try to replace the msi 2 redist with the msi 3 redist. A cleaner solution would be to create you own launcher for that purpose, or build your own Prerequisite for MSI 3.
